General Comments: | The authors of this paper state that their model was derived from SWAT as follows: The integrative regional scale hydro-ecological model was developed to assess water resource use and ecological production in arid and semi-arid areas. The model was adapted from the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT), developed by the USDA (Arnold et al., 1998) for
hydrological simulations, due to its high calculation efficiency, ease of use, and wide validation and acceptance. It is not clear what the authors mean by "adapted"; use of the word implies that they used a modified version of SWAT. However, there is no evidence provided in their study of a modified version so it is assumed they used the standard SWAT model. |
