General Comments:The authors of this paper state that their model was derived from SWAT as follows: The integrative regional scale hydro-ecological model was developed to assess water resource use and ecological production in arid and semi-arid areas. The model was adapted from the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT), developed by the USDA (Arnold et al., 1998) for hydrological simulations, due to its high calculation efficiency, ease of use, and wide validation and acceptance.
