General Comments:Describes an approach for determining what fraction of streamflow should be attributed to baseflow & grondwater flow versus surace runoff using an automated digital filter method. An overall monthly r2 of .86 was found in comparing baseflow estimates from the digital filter versus measured base flows for six watersheds. The technique is used prior to performing a SWAT simulation to help guide the flow calibration process.
