Validation Summary: 
General Comments:SWAT2000 was used to evaluate 35 high-flow events that were monitored intensively for total suspended solids (TSS). A comparison of predicted and measured sediment loads for 34 of the 35 events revealed that SWAT underestimated the measured loads by 29%. In general, high sediment loading events and winter events were underestimated; the winter events were likely underestimated due to limitations in SWAT for simulating erosion caused by snowmelt. TSS concentrations were typically better predicted during late summer/early fall relative to other seasons. The authors also note that the model could not account for flood plain erosion caused by flooding.
