Watershed Description:366 km^2 Fairchild Creek, a tributary of the Grand River located in southeast Ontario, Canada.
Calibration Summary:Daily (April to Oct. 1996) correlation coefficient = 0.75
Validation Summary:
General Comments:An integated GIS modeling system consisting of a Farm model (crop budgets), SWAT, and the CENTURY model was used to evaluate spatial targeting of conservation tillage as a function of sediment abatement or carbon rentention goals. Sediment losses were predicted to decline by ~39% across the entire watershed with conservation tillage in 95 agric. subwatersheds. Total sediment abatement and associated costs are reported for 4 different sediment abatement goals. Similar results are reported for carbon retention scenarios.
