Sebastien Pouliot is an association professor in the department of economics.
Pouliot’s recent research efforts focus on the analysis of the market impacts and feasibility of biofuel policies in the United States. One particular point of interest is the demand for biofuel and how consumers perceive biofuel compared to traditional motor fuel. Research interests also include the analysis of food safety policies and analysis of trade policies with a focus on trade barriers in agriculture.
Pouliot has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in economics from Université Laval in Quebec City and a Ph.D. in agricultural and resource economics from the University of California, Davis. He is currently an editor of the Canadian Journal of Agricultural Economics.
