Hyewon Lee, a PhD student in the Depatrment of Economics, was selected as the 2026 recipient of the Thamodaran Family Innovation in Agriculture Student Award. Lee conducts her research under the mentorship of Dr. David Hennessy. The Thamodaran Family Innovation in Agriculture Student Award is intended to support an undergraduate or graduate student working on an innovative scientific, technological, or business idea related to a grand challenge in agriculture. Lee was selected for her proposed research “Beyond the Threshold: Information and Farmer Disinclination to Use Integrated Pest Management,” which examines agricultural decision making under biological uncertainty and how information constraints shape pest management decisions of farmers.
