Presentation of Proposed Priority-Setting Framework to National Stakeholders and Experts

September 14, 2005

Resources for the Future Conference Center
1616 P Street, NW, Washington, D.C.

The goal of the conference was to receive comments from the stakeholder community on the proposed framework and on next steps to improve food safety priority setting by public and private decisionmakers.

The Prioritizing Opportunities project has been a collaborative effort among FSRC institutions to develop a conceptual framework for identifying and prioritizing opportunities to reduce the risk of foodborne disease in the U.S. food safety system. The project has been led by Iowa State University (Helen Jensen), and has involved FSRC members: University of California, Davis (Jerry Gillespie), University of Georgia (Mike Doyle), University of Maryland (J. Glenn Morris), University of Massachusetts (Julie Caswell), and Resources for the Future (Mike Taylor).

The project and conference are supported by the USDA/CSREES National Integrated Food Safety Initiative.

For more information about the project, see Prioritizing Opportunities to Reduce Foodborne Risk.
