Do You Remember? - Jerome Dumortier
Years at CARD: 2008–2011
Current Occupation: Assistant professor, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis
Currently Resides in: Indianapolis, Indiana
Jerome says he always had an interest in environmental policy and renewable energy, and it was that interest that eventually brought him to Iowa State to study environmental economics. While pursuing his Ph.D in economics, Jerome worked as a graduate research assistant for Dermot Hayes at CARD, which taught him skills he needed to pursue his career. “By far the most important skill I have learned at CARD is to connect policy and economics. I work at a public affairs/policy school and linking policy and economics to create a benefit to society is tremendously important,” he said.
After leaving CARD, Jerome took a position as an assistant professor at the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University. He currently resides in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he enjoys spending time with friends, biking, and swimming.
