Yiannis Panagopoulos joined CARD as a Post-Doc Research Associate in June 2012 and is working within an interdisciplinary research group on river basin management and water quality. He holds a Bachelor degree in ‘Natural Resources Management and Agricultural Engineering’ from the Agricultural University of Athens Greece, as well as an MScE degree in ‘Water Resources Science and Technology’ and a PhD degree in ‘Hydrology and Non-Point Source Surface Water Pollution’ from National Technical University of Athens. He is specialized in watershed hydrologic and water quality modeling with emphasis in nutrient cycling and transport to water bodies and agricultural management simulation. Panagopoulos has been actively involved in European Union funded research projects related to water resources management and has published a number of scientific articles in peer-review journals and international conferences. Currently, he is working on the Upper Mississippi and Ohio-Tennessee river basins, focusing on cropping systems sustainability and water pollution mitigation.
