CARD: Center for Agricultural and Rural Development

Curtis Balmer joined CARD in August 2003 to provide programming, design, and maintenance for all CARD-affiliated web sites. He earned a computer engineering degree from ISU in spring 2001, and went on to work in the Department of Economics as a web and database manager. Since joining CARD, Balmer has been working on updating pages, including creating new interactive database applications and making sure the pages are consistent and user-friendly.

Balmer is an Iowa native. He lives in Ames with his wife, Stacey Brown, their son Kellen, and a couple hyper dogs. In their leisure time they enjoy live music, movies, and time spent outdoors. Balmer also enjoys shooting pool and the works of Vincent van Gogh.
